New camera needs lots of accessories

For a recent business trip to Alaska (sweet!), I determined that my trusty & wonderful Canon SD 400 Digital Elph wasn’t up to snuff. So I splurged on a digital SLR that was on sale at Best Buy, Canon’s Rebel XT. Va-va-voom. It’s big and bulky but takes me back to the days of my trusty old analog Canon AT-1 SLR that I got for my bar mitzvah in 1979 (which still works).

In addition to the many added features I gained — like the ability to save in RAW format, choose from 3 metering modes and automatically bracket — the Rebel XT is super fast. No start up delay and no shutter lag. Taking multiple shots in a row is no prob. Awesome. But of course, new camera, new memory format. I needed a compact flash card, and a big one! So I opted for a cheap 4 gig card by Transcend. And now I need a bag, a big fat bag…Jason O’Grady recently turned me on to Crumpler. What about this one?
