Wow, those Fran’s Salted Caramels are good
A little off-topic, but while doing some holiday gift shopping, I discovered this little box of delicious-looking Fran’s smoked salt caramels. I decided that before I got them for anybody as a gift, I’d better check and make sure they were tasty. Answer? YES. I’m calling this photograph “guilty as charged” for obvious reasons. p.s.…

Cleaning up the office for fall
Spent a good bit of Saturday morning cleaning my office, but I cheated. Sure, I threw away lots of obvious trash, old magazines, empty coffee cups and the like. But I went with the piles of paper method. They’re hidden away, certainly. But I guess I really put off for another day the more difficult…

Phew, the new season of Entourage is almost here
Way off topic, but Apple and HBO just put a 5 minute “sneak peak” video up in the iTunes store for the upcoming fifth season of Entourage. I guess the summer drought of watchable TV shows is finally lifting. Here’s a link to the page inside the store. Warning: lots of plot spoilers crammed into…

New Header Image: the Joys of Wiffle Ball
Time to switch out the picture at the top of the blog. Spring peepers are long gone. The dog days of August mean lots of Cape Cod wiffle ball. I couldn’t participate competitively this year thanks to my knee surgery so you’ll have to enjoy the rest of the boys at play.

Adventures of Sarah Jane’s a throwback to great scifi TV cheese

As I mentioned yesterday, we did a huge closet cleaning project recently. Here’s the before shot (notice the pile of 10 years of junk from the likes of Linksys, Apple, Fuji, Brother, Uniden and every other brand I’ve ever blogged about): And here’s the after shot:

Curious Aaron solves iPhone voice-over mystery
It was driving me a little crazy — no, make that A LOT crazy. Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t focus on reading the paper, couldn’t think about washing my hair in the shower — WHO was the voice behind Apple’s compelling new iPhones ads? You know the one where the guy is watching “Pirates of the Carribean”…

Passover ends with the traditional donut sandwich
After eight days of remembering the deprivations of slavery, another year of Passover ends with a reminder of the joys and luxuries of being free — including the donut sandwich with a side of triscuits and cheez-its. No complaining from the healthy crowd. I used whole wheat bread.

Why I stopped watching Battlestar Galactica
(Updated 4/4/07) So…turns out it was a ruse concocted by Mister Moore. More here from the L.A. Times (With apologies to Thomas Jefferson) When in the course of television events it becomes necessary for one viewer to dissolve the entertaining bands which have connected them with a show and to assume among the powers of…

I am not a morning person
As the headline says, I am not now, nor have I ever been and apparently never am I fated to be a morning person. But with kids who think 6 a.m. is sleeping late and a home office that beckons as soon as they all get off to school, I’ve got to do my best…
